Merry Christmas!

the get together this year was good! i'm sorry the time got messed up and threw everything off.

i've got a proposal for next year......it will be our 10 year reunion! can you believe that!?!?!

some of us talked about doing something different next year - like maybe taking a girls trip (thursday-sunday) to chicago, dallas, atlanta, new york.....

what do you think? if each of us starts saving a little now, it won't be that bad! and we could fit several in a room, so we wouldn't be looking at a ton of money...just a thought!

look to the right - a new picture! i'll still try to get 2008's picture up soon. computer issues at the first of the year kept that one from going up!

NOVEMBER 8TH is the saturday of misteltoe marketplace. that always seems to be a good weekend - people who don't live in the jackson area can come to town, shop, then hang out with "old" friends!

this was sent february 5th, so it's a little late.....

Here is the latest on my mom.... the initial reports after her surgery were optimistic but once the final pathology came back about 5 days after her surgery it showed that the surgeon did not get enough clear margins on the tumor and that the lymph nodes were in fact malignant.....soooo....she will have to have surgery again to remove more tissue around where the tumor was and remove as many lymph nodes as they can under her arm...this also means that she will have to have chemo in addition to the radiation that was already planned.

We are going on a family cruise (no kids....yeah!) this week and when we return all this mess will start!! Thanks for thinking of her and I'll keep you posted.

Update from Kelly

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. The surgeon recommends the most conservative treatment at this time.....lumpectomy to remove the mass, syentinal node biopsy to check the lymph nodes, and 6 weeks radiation to decrease the chance of reaccurance. Hopefully the nodes will be negative for cancer and chemo will not be needed!!! Surgery is scheduled this coming Friday the 18th. Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

our get-together in november was good. 7 ladies and one man (poor perrin - lee ellen didn't hold him up for the picture!). we had a good time catching up!

hopefully we will get together again before november. we may just start setting a date. kinda like we do for the november get together: it is always the saturday night of mistletoe marketplace. makes it easy to remember, you know?

hey guys...hope all is going well with your families

i have some bad news to share.....my mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer....she had an abnormal annual mammogram and they sent her for a diagnostic mammogram which showed micro calcifications and wanted her to have a needle biopsy which she did last thursday....the results came in the next day on friday that showed positive for 2 types of cancer....one DCIS is non-invasive and is contained in the milk ducts but the other IDC is spreading to other tissues of the breast.

She has an appt with a surgeon on wed. to discuss treatment options please pray for her and all of my family as we prepare for what is sure to be a hard and stressful beginning to 2008
